Fashion editorial in Reverie magazine
Back in January I shot fashion editorial which is now published in Reverie magazine. We shot it at 19th century historical house in Aurora just north of Toronto.
When I first visited the place, the house looked pretty small to me so I used only SB-600 speedlites and reflectors for this photoshoot. Since place is so small I easily used pop-up flash in commander mode on my D700. Nothing beats ability to control flash power right from the camera. As usual I employed a different lighting setup for each photo.
Here I used two lights, umbrella on the right high and CTOd softbox on the left.
Just silver reflector here to reveal details in the shadows.
Again, just the reflector.
This was very dark hallway, ambient was mostly here so I needed to light up interior and the model with just two lights that I had with me. I placed bare CTOd flash almost at the back wall. For the key light a small softbox 24×24 was placed camera left and high angled down. After I saw that lights were place properly it was just matter of balancing two of them.
As sun was going going closer to the ground, it created amazing window light which I used as a key in this photo. To fill the shadows I used flash with umbrella, again balancing these two light sources.
