Had some fun recently shooting promo images for Jascari. Final images to follow, here is few BTS shots.

One good thing about food photography is that you can eat your subject and some props after you’re done shooting.

Neighbors got this beauty recently. Her name is Sheila, she is totally adorable and very photogenic.

High speed capture is often used in food photography to shoot liquid splashes. In order to capture liquid in stop motion we need speeds faster than 1/10000 sec. While cameras don’t have such shutter speeds it is possible to use small flashes at low output levels to get perfect still images of liquid droplets in the air. Speedlites usually have to be set to 1/16 power or lower, there should be no ambient light, camera is set on tripod and pre-focused on your subject. The rest is just matter of trial and error.

Been playing with the beer can for the last couple of days. I still cannot get sweat bead properly. I guess it’s time to google around a bit for some instructions on those nice even drops of water.

Took my family on the weekend to attend King Tut’s exhibition at AGO. That was a nightmare. It costs too much, too many people stuffed inside small space to feel comfy and you cannot photograph the items. Nightmare! At least Anubis was accessible.
